Your project
When you contact me about editing your project, I'll typically need to know the following:
- the purpose of the text (for publication in book or journal, training, presentation)
- who wrote the text (yourself, author(s), writer(s)), and how sensitive I should be to the writer's style
- who the audience is (experts, students, patients, general public)
- whether the text has been or will be checked by a subject expert
- the approximate length (word count, pages)
- whether there is a style guide
- whether the language is UK or US English
- any specific points that are to be addressed or avoided (e.g. sensitive phrasing, preferences).
Do you have a timeframe in mind? If so, I'll let you know whether I can meet your deadline.
It is common that your document(s) will be returned to you with queries for your attention: please allow time for this in your planning.
